We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our Marlborough  Private Client team.

Our Wiltshire presence spans two offices; Swindon and Marlborough.  It is mainly the Marlborough area we are keen to expand.  In our Wiltshire team we have one Partner in non-contentious, one Partner in contentious probate, two solicitors (2yr PQE and 3yr PQE) plus one Associate.  We have one Paralegal (Graduate Solicitor Apprentice) and one Paralegal (CILEX route) dealing primarily with incapacity cases.

We also have four Legal Assistants offering administration support.

We would be be looking for the newest team member to grow and develop the team, whilst maintaining a consistent level of excellent client service, demonstrating market/sector knowledge. They will support the Head of Team achieve the Team Business Plan and its contribution to the Business Unit Business Plan. There will be of line management and supervisory responsibility for Solicitors, Paralegals and other juniors in the team.

Duties will include:

  • Effective and efficient delivery of work on own matters, ensuring matters are profitable and work is resourced at the right levels.
  • Build effective relationships with own clients and / or referrers by exceeding client service expectations and where appropriate, support partners on the management and development of larger key clients.
  • Agree services being provided to clients with a clear basis for charging and pricing
  • Develop a profile as an established expert
  • Input and implement ideas into the departmental business plan and demonstrate new business success from the BD activities
  • Expand network of clients and/or referrers and supports partners in pursuing target clients, intermediaries and contacts with a view to building a pipeline of new business
  • Supervise and coach others within the team, delegating work appropriately and ensuring quality output

Skills, Experience and Attributes

  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive 6+PQE
  • Previous experience within a Private Client team.
  • Exposure or interest  in specialisms such as Wills, Probate, LPA's, Estate Administration, Tax & Trusts  is very desirable 
  • Ability to manage own files and delegate work to others
  • Strong client management skills with a focus on delivery of excellent client service
  • Proven ability to win new business through successful BD activity
  • Ability to supervise and line manage a small team
